Update From Papa Bear:

"Well helloooooooooooo laa la laa la laa,

My surgery is scheduled for Friday, April 3rd. Friday is just around the corner, or should I say just a skip down the road. I might as well skip while I can. I’m not in denial; I just don’t see the point of dwelling on it.

So my musical (Chaps) is on schedule. The cast is a lot of fun and Deborah Jones is great. It opens on May 7th. We rehearse every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It will all take place at the Burley Theater again. I love that old theater!

We just came home from District Speech and the students did great. A couple of 1sts and several qualified for State. State is on April 17th so I need to be ready to travel by April 12th. It is great being back to work. I will miss it again. The time I get to be with Sayda and my kids is what makes this all bearable.

Our dear friend Eileen (Sayda says I should say Dr. Eileen Frelier) has helped us a lot through these tough times. I wish she could be here to be my internist. I am so grateful for everyone’s support and everyone’s prayers."

Old man,
Oh my sweetheart. You have taught me so much throughout this journey. You have been SO positive through everything. You say I'm your pillar of strength, but guess what? You are OUR pillar of strength. Stay strong and stay positive. It will all be over soon and you can go back to your normal routine. You are in my prayers constantly.

I love you a whole bunch and all the rest, Kido

Mr. Call,
I can hardly believe that this time is already here. Remember when it was...going to be to long of a time to think about...
You are an amazing example to so many.
I was excited to read about your upcoming play.
It will be awesome, just like everything else you do!
You are in our prayers. I know of a couple of missionaries that are praying for you too.
I believe in miracles and hope that in the next couple of weeks we see many of them.
Much love!

Once again, Mr. Call, I have only my best wishes and prayers to give you. You've certainly been in them ever since Richie told us your story. I only know that God is very, very good, and that if you're anything like Richie, you possess a strength and depth of character that the rest of us walk around envying. You've got all the love possible coming from the East Coast. I look forward to meeting you in the flesh at Richie's graduation!-Ben Jeffrey

"Sayda,

I haven't figured out how to post a comment for Dick, on his blog, to let him know that I am praying for him and that he is on my mind everyday. I know that he has many people praying for him. He is a very strong man and I am sure that he will do great.

Tell him that I send my love to him and that I will be thinking of him and praying for him on the day of his surgery.

All my love to Dick, you and your family. I know how difficult this time is for you and your family.

Estela"

"Dear Richie,
Please tell your dad that he is on the prayer list at St. John's Episcopal Church in Logan. Those who attend morning prayer have been praying for him every day since we learned about his illness. We will especially remember him and his doctors in prayer on Friday. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for him. We will pray for his courage, fortitude and faith to get through this trying time. God bless you all.
Love,
Jan Hines"

Of course, we are putting your name on every temple prayer roll we can, and we will be with you in spirit all day Friday. Also, in your honor, Worthy took a Polar Bear Plunge last week -- twice! That should help, shouldn't it?
